Re: What Are You Doing Today? January 2012 edition
Hope everyone had a good weekend.
Woke up at the usual time to discover my bedside radio no longer works which was annoying. So not of to the greatest of starts! Today is just a regular Monday, don't think anything of note is going on. Have done the usual housey stuff, got some laundry drying outside, have rotated the decorative stuff in the house so have swapped some stuff with things stored in the garage. Started another block for the quilt and just have the radio on. Relaxing day.

Re: What Are You Doing Today? January 2012 edition
Fed up of this week already. Having to get a new phone as oh spilt DS's formula on mine and it's completely stickied up and knacked, I'm not good at new technology and hate having to learn new techy things. Some tit knocked my wing mirror off as I was driving back from DD's group and didn't even stop and then I got hoe to a phonecall from the bank saying someone had attempted to clone my card so they were cancelling it and sending me out a new one - it'll take 5-7 working days!! Great will have to get OH to get me some cash out as his card is unaffected.
This week has got to improve.

I put my phone in the washing machine once and another time i ruined a phone by putting it in a bag with a bottle of water that leaked. Thankfully only cheap phones its really annoying though.

Re: What Are You Doing Today? January 2012 edition
I am making today anti-procrastination day!
I have filled in some paperwork that I have been putting off for months, it took 2 & a half hours to do, but I am glad its done now.
Sent an email - that I have also been putting off for a while too.
A big box of shredding will be done later and bagged up.
I am popping up to the high street now to get some lunch.

Not much planned today:
Catching up with clothes washing.
In-laws will be popping in later.
Work on some budget meal plans for the month.
Put a few DVD's on ebay.

Re: What Are You Doing Today? January 2012 edition
pipling, you inspired me with your anti procrastination day so today I am filling in the DLA form I started for my daughter before Christmas and abandoned as too upsetting. I know she should be entitled to something which would then mean we could afford a few more activities to help boost her mobility so I am gritting my teeth and finishing it off. It is so upsetting to do though as most of the time I manage to remain pretty pollyanna about the whole thing whereas filling in the form I have to be more realistic and honest with myself.

Funnily enough, It was my DLA form that I had put off for so long yesterday.
It is very upsetting when you have to *think* about what you (or in your case your daughter) can and cant do.
I suddenly realise that my life is very different to *normal* people and that makes me feel quite sad.
I put off re-applying for DLA for many years after being rejected in my teens.
But after a series of operations and illnesses, I was incouraged by health care professionals to re-apply and was awarded it about 7 years ago.
I now have independance as I have a motability car that has been coverted with hand controls (A steering ball on the steering wheel for one hand and accelerator/brake handle for the other hand) that I can drive myself.
Without my motability car I would rarely leave the house and I always worry that it will be taken away for "not being disabled enough" if you know what I mean.

Re: What Are You Doing Today? January 2012 edition
It' pretty rotten that isn't it - I hate the way (although I understand that it has to be that way) that to fill the form in you have to focus on all the can't when I spend my time trying to focus on the things she's really good at.
Doing well so far - no tears yet!
It also gives me pause for thought sometimes when DS does something way earlier than DD managed. We've had haggis pie tonight and DS wolfed his was even using his own spoon although I have to load it up for him. He's just turned 8 months and his big sister was 21 months before she self fed and she's not much further on with the spoon even now. But then I think there are things that he'll not be anywhere as good at, like concentrating. As DD has to concentrate so hard to do things she is so focussed and will happily concentrate on a single activity like painting or playdough for well over an hour and a half!
Your car sounds like a real life changer, how fantastic.

Re: What Are You Doing Today? January 2012 edition
Well form all done all bar a few little bits that I need to check. OH thinks I'm barmy but I feel a bit like I'm letting DD down by writing down all the stuff she's not good at and the things that she can't do, it's just so difficult when I'm usually so focussed on the thing she does well and is good at. I know I have to do it and I know that getting the extra money will mean that we can afford for her to do more activities and we can build a fund for when she needs specialist equipment but it does still feel a bit like telling tales. Now just got to hope I don't have to appeal all this in a few weeks, I'm not sure I have the energy - that's probably what they rely on!
Sorry guys - bit of a downer tonight, probably should have put this in my diary bit which I haven't touched since before Christmas - how time flies, it'll be 2013 before I know it!
On a more positive note, just for my brother to text me back with his wife's school holiday dates for October then we are going to book our wedding. Brov says it's about time OH made an honest woman of me after 2 kids My absolute dream is that DD will be able to walk down the aisle as my flower girl, either with or without K walker would be good, obviously without would be the absolute best. We'll see, fingers crossed.

Re: What Are You Doing Today? January 2012 edition
Exciting news stiltwalker!
TP, has a freegle group not set up to replace freecycle? I know a lot of people are on gumtree now too but I think that's more selling than giving away (I could be wrong, usually am).
I am totally shattered today! Haven't been sleeping well and it's caught up with me today, I can hardly see straight. Looking after white rabbit who is ill again so I have to squeeze and dose her up every couple of hours. I think we're meant to be going to see MIL tonight if Dan's step dad is up to it. He had his pain medication increased last week so that's kind of helping but he appears to be having more bad days than good at the minute. Other than that it's just general house stuff and maybe some quilting if I can stay awake long enough.
Have a good day everyone.

Re: What Are You Doing Today? January 2012 edition
Oooo a wedding - how fabulous! I love weddings and wedding planning (or any big party really!). LOL
I am trying to catch up on things I let slide this week. It was my Hubby's birthday on Tuesday and yesterday I was feeling lazy. Now today I feel ill with an earache, sore throat, headache and kidney pain but I'm determined to try my best to motor through it (as you can tell by the fact I'm sat on my bum on here! )...
I hope everyone is having a good day today!

Went to pick up DDs Peppa Pig magazine from the shop this morning, then went to the park. As soon as DD sat on the swings, the heavens opened and we got soaking wet. by the time we got home our clothes were so wet that we had to strip off and change!
Noticed that DH has forgotton to take his lunch this morning, so he will have to buy himself something instead, again!
Tasks for today are:
- wash and dry towels
- put all DH's work shirts away that I washed yesterday
- Re-send the important email that has bounced back
- Sort out some more meal plans
- put the DVDs on ebay (that I was supposed to do yesterday!)

Re: What Are You Doing Today? January 2012 edition
Had a quick tidy round and done some washing this morning. Then had a couple of hours doing bookkeeping work this morning.
I am in the middle of clearing out the bottom of my wardrobe at the moment- it somehow becomes a dumping ground for everything. I am sat at the laptop looking at a pile of rubbish and wondering how on earth it all came out of there

Last week of January already. Time flies and all that. Is anyone doing anything exciting this week?
We're busy towards the end of the week but have nothing planned for today or tomorrow *hooray*. Just enjoying the sunshine and relaxing at home.

I don't mind the cold (although remind me I said that when I've been to the match on Friday night!). If it's cold but dry I quite like it - sunny and cheery. Far prefer it to warmer but wet and grey.

Dd is at her grandparents today - so I have a day to myself
Just spending the day watching tv, catching up with some emails and resting in the warm after a reasonably busy weekend.
It has been snowing here all day, DD was so excited this morning as its the first time she's seen real snow. Its not staying on the ground though as its too wet, its just in the air.

Re: What Are You Doing Today? January 2012 edition
It's my youngest son's 2nd birthday today. He's had a great day but it does make me a little sad - I've never had a 2nd birthday before where there hasn't been a younger baby in the house! LOL
Anyway, this week is really hectic. Tomorrow I've got to do a ton of washing and organising which will be much easier because my Husband will be out of the house for a little while! And then Wednesday I have my MIL coming over, and also getting my 1902 Singer sewing machine delivered! Can't wait to get a proper look at it! Thursday, Hubby and I are donating blood for the first time ever. And then Friday it's household stuff again and Saturday it's my third son's 8th birthday!
Phew!

I need to make a phone call that I don't fancy doing, I would email but he didn't reply to my last two!
Got to take the dog to the vets for another blood test, he's got high cholesterol and they want to look at something else.
Some bills to sort out and a general tidy up in the house.

I'm having a putter about looking for some fresh recipe ideas. We were meant to be having the boiler serviced but the guy can't make it so that's going to happen next week. Not much else going on. I am very much enjoying it that way too!
Have a good day everyone.
