Red Thai curry with tofu for us tonight. I was going to do a pie with veg and mash but the sun has come out and it's boiling now so I'm going for something a bit lighter.

What's everyone been eating this week?

I haven't really had any proper meals as Dan has been working late all week so I've been eating mainly soup. thankfully tonight is the last night so we'll be back to normal. We'll probably just have something snacky tomorrow as we're going to be out all day.

Saturday - pizza
Sunday - jacket potatoes (or if the potatoes are sprouty fried potatoes) with chilli
Monday - curry
Tuesday - lentil bol

That's all I know so far.

Had a vegetable thai green curry with some of the paste from the giant tin from approved foods on Tuesday and it was so good. It apparently keeps in the fridge for 2 months so jarred some up and froze the rest and looks like we'll be eating that lots more times - it was really good though and DD loved it and kept making her yummy noises all the way through so don't mind.

Was going to do pizza night last night after chatting on another thread here but kids were playing up and OH was doing his OU assignment so couldn't take over so bread never got made. We had macaroni cheese with tuna and peas mixed in instead - it's such a taste of childhood for me that as my brother loved mac cheese so always picked it when it was his choice. We've carried on the tradition here having it once a week most weeks although it's usually "mac cheese with stuff in" (ie whatever sare veg or meat I have knocking about)

So tonight I am doing pizza night, OH has finished his essay all bar the tweaking so he can look after the kids while I make bread when he gets back from work. Then I make 3 pizzas and a garlic pizza. Not as piggy as it sounds as I do them Italian style with very thin bases and not loads of different topping piled on just one type of salami or meat and one veggy bit and some onions. So usually do a chorizo and green pepper with a few black olives, a salami and mushroom and a ham and sweetcorn. Then there is usually enough leftovers to have cold for lunch with some other picky bits from the fridge.

That's how I like my pizza too, nice and thin and so I can taste the veg not just have a huge mass of stuff (the same cannot be said for burritos Embarassed ) I'm going to be brave this week and have mozzarella on mine as well as veg. Ooooh, does the excitement never cease Laughing

Do you use pizza stones for yours or just a tray (or something else I can't think of)?

Thanks. Dan wants something to cook pizza and stuff on so I shall suggest terracotta plates to him.

It's a Jamie at Home one and my parents have one too, my dad uses it to bake his bread on, I have done but as most bread goes a sandwiches in this house I usually use a loaf tin for mine. It does work nicely for bread too though.

Cottage pie tonight with homemade pickled red cabbage. Will take some pie mix out before I add any salt and whizz it for the smallest person, he's starting to have little mels now not just pureed veg and boy is it going down well! Laughing It's looking like I might get another little foodie on my hands. That would be so good as I must admit to a little panic, having had DD be so passionate about food, about what I'd do if DS is a fussy beggar. Will have to wait a little longer to find out whether he has his sister's passion for (and tolerance of) spicy food. I've never met another child so small who will eat food so spicy hot! We caused a bit of a to do in an Idian cafe one lunch time when she was about 18 months as all the chefs had to come out and smile at and say hello to the little baby wolfing her way throught the spicy biriyani - too hot for MIL and even I thought it was quite hot.

We're on fridge clearance before we go away. Hub has a couple of days away before that as well. He's getting a jacket potato tonight with the beans, grated cheese and coleslaw that needs using up. I'm on the DUkan attack phase, so pure protein for me, probably some turkey meat and whatever else needs using up.

I have no idea what we're having. We're taking the beasts to the vets at 5.30 so it'll have to be something quick and light...
