Re: Introduce yourself
Hello Everyone
Another one who followed the link from MSE.
I'm a mummy to a three month old and currently on materiaty leave. I'm a craft tutor at a special needs college and will be going back in february to work three days. Ideally I would love to be at home full time but need the wages at the moment. I am currently trying to re-build my business as a dressmaker to allow me give up my outside job, fingers crossed I will start getting more work before feb.
I love sewing, knitting, cross stitch, reading, gardening and decorating when I get the time.
It will be nice have a chat with other like minded folks out there.

Hi!
Hi everyone,
I also gravitated over from MSE but have a different user name on here. I was SunnyGirl (the one that posted on the Daily thread NOT the Flylady thread iyswim?) I used to post on there a lot but haven't done for about 18 months now although I obviously still read or I wouldn't have found you all
I am a fulltime homemaker at the moment as I was made redundant in May after a year of full time work. I loved working but I'm always happier at home where I was before I started back at work. I have 3 children - DD aged 19 (doesn't live at home any more), DS1 aged 17 and DS2 aged 13. There's also my DH of 23 years, 2 dogs and 4 cats :lol!: It's a busy but happy house.
I enjoy crochet, knitting, cross stitch, cooking, reading and taking the hounds out for walks. Looking forward to getting to know everyone although lots of names are very familiar already lol.

Introduce yourself
Hi everyone
I'm a stay at home mother of two children - 6 and 8 years old. I had imagined that I'd start back at work once they have started school but a combination of my own mental health problems (I was diagnosed with bipolar four years ago and am just settling in to being stable), and a lack of decent jobs in school times around here has made me in to a stay at home mum. I do love it, most of the time, but others do feel a little unfulfilled, and occasionally like I should 'do' a bit more. I do do voluntary work, a bit of work at a local community centre, help at the school and look after my naughty dog so am exploring options.
Can also talk happily for hours about supermarkets and washing powder options.

Re: Introduce yourself
I have drifted over from MSE aswell!
im at home 5 days a week and work 2 days, on my working days DH is home with our sons aged 2 and 4 (saves on childcare) i would love to give up work altogether but finances dont allow it!
I love cooking, baking, spending time with my family and i love my soaps (thank god for v+ lol). all of my time is taken up with my boys, DS1 is at nursery 2.5 hours in the morning and DS2 is at home with me. Its hard trying to keep on top of housework etc when i have the boys running about, DS1's friends in etc but i do try. I love when my house is all clean and tidy, feel 10x better.

To be honest I love being at home and making it cozy, not having the stresses of being at work, coming and going as I please, me doing all the "work at home" means we have more time as a family on weekends etc...... Look forward to chatting more

Re: Introduce yourself
Hi, I'm Pippa, married with an 11 yo boy.
I am self employed with 2 very different types of work. One part I love, the other part is rapidly making me ill (JuliaPenguin - I'm in work based learning - masses of paperwork, double the coursework etc etc). I work mainly from home and its chaos - physically and mentally!
I found you on the other forum where I have another name. I can really relate to everything that was said over there about the juggling, the spending as no time etc and we are seriously looking at me only retaining the work I love, providing I get another years contract and completing the students I have and not taking on anymore. This will help my health, my family and my home.
I look forward to getting to know you all.
Pippa

Re: Introduce yourself
Thanks for the welcome. After a bad day yesterday where I could manage major things but fell apart over a supposed failed parcelforce delivery I think I might be homestyling sooner than I thought! I do have to fulfil my student signups, but lots wants to get finished ahead of deadline so that will be the aim from December so I can reassess and hopefully find myself and my carpets from January
