Re: for the crafty amongst us
I was wondering.... My daughter has set up a website for her crochet blankets, and I'd like to have it as a link on my blog. I was wondering if that's possible, and if so, how would I go about doing it ??? My blog site is run by blogger if that is any help :-)

Thanks TP I've just looked at her page, which is on facebook, and I don't think I can do it, as there doesn't seem to be a proper link, other than the facebook one. I'm such a dumb dumb at anything like this lol.

I managed to add some links using a link option. I can't get my daughters face book page though. managed to get the link up, and it went to face book, but wouldn't open her page. I expect her permisdsion was needed. I'll see if she'll set up a blog :-)
Thanks for your help TP.

Re: for the crafty amongst us
I did this the other day .it's to aid with heat insulation. eventually it will have fleece on the other side but I ran out of thread!
it's across my kitchen doorway. I hate living in an open plan house. this is for inter heat insulation more than anything.
appologies for the mess, we're decorating.
and finally, how do you hold a curtain up if you havn't bought any hooks yet? RMT union badges of course

I love those badges they look great!
we are going to be doing the same for our front door and conservatory when i cahnge the curtains in the livingroom to the winter ones
we have 4 sets up in the livingroom (big windows) and when i take them down i will put them at the doors that way i dont have to buy more sets and store those ones
just have to wait for OH to put up the rails now

Re: for the crafty amongst us
article about crafting in The Observer today called The Hell of Handicrafts. I get the impression it's meant to be funny but it just irked me as most things written in The Observer do! I don't really care whether people craft or not but I do hate the "why make it when you can buy it " attitude. And I know it's tongue in cheek but it's a attitude I come across a lot, as well as the "you could be doing something highbrow" thing. Well, I don't know about you but I can both make things and read books with big words in. Not mutually exclusive!

Anne, is that the really funky yarn that you knit and then pull for that effect? it is hard to work with?

Re: for the crafty amongst us
Well here are the pics i have been promising for ages the top one is my youngest in the hat i made
I am doing one in black for middle DD in thicker wool as i think it will give a better result
the second pic is the fingerless gloves i made middle DD they were plain in the pattern but we both decided a bit of ribbon woven through just made them a bit more special. i had no hand models as they both have chipped nail varnish on and refused to have their pic taken like that
