Alec - Yes, its because I will eat yorkshire puddings with ANYTHING, but Dh insists they are only to be eaten with beef
Tonight - A ham hock casserole (A "finest" ready meal I bought reduced in Tesco yesterday) with crusty bread and butter

Another one for having Yorkshire puds with anything, I also do stuffing if we are having a roast, regardless of what meat I'm roasting because I love stuffing. Mind you I have been known to make stuffing and bread sauce just to leave to go cold for stuffing and bread sauce butties, no meat necessary!
Not sure what we are having tonight, must go and investigate to see what's left as Tuesday is shopping day.

I'm the same with stuffing as well (Although it has to be homemade from scratch or PAXO, nothing else will do!)stiltwalker wrote:Another one for having Yorkshire puds with anything, I also do stuffing if we are having a roast, regardless of what meat I'm roasting because I love stuffing. I really fancy spaghetti, not a craving I usually have but there you go. Will probably just have a mushroomy lentil bol or something.

Re: dinner plans for tonight?
Got 2 massive catering size bags of paxo from approved foods a while back so can indulge my weird love of stuffing sarnies as often as I like!
Tonight however we will be having whatever is easy to chew! (Wisdom tooth) so will be hot dogs on soft buns and potato waffles from the freezer. May completely overboil and ruin some veg to go with or not as I CBA! It's also lazy dinner tonight as it has been bath night with the kids, due to DD's mobility issues she can't go in the big bath on her own and she's waaayyyy to big for the baby bath so she has to go in with me with OH lifting her in and out so a complete palaver. May as well chuck DS in while we're at it! So I have my quiet bath time while OH feeds the kids and now they are both asleep it's his turn for a soak or he feels left out.

Soooooo jealous!
Tonight I am trying a new recipe that was in the free Morrisons magazine: "Keema Pitta pockets" with salad. It looks like curry flavoured koftas made with lentils and minced beef.

We ended up having pizza last night. Tonight we're having some kind of noodle, stirfry, tofu combination.

Re: dinner plans for tonight?
Cous Cous with a big hot spicey veggie stew and for DH they'll be some meat bits on spikes.
The Cous Cous is steamed on top of the spicey veggie stew like they do it in Tunisia
They make the spicey veggie's in the bottom of the and the cous cous is steamed over the top and then meat it roasted on spike's

Spag bol and garlic bread here. I've also made a beef stew for tomorrow so OH can just make some mash, dumplings and heat it up as Sundays are official 'Be nice to Mummy day' and I don't have to cook!

Re: dinner plans for tonight?
I never used to eat stirfry in the winter I thought it was too light and not comforting enough, but we had it this weekend and it was great. Just a simple chilli and garlic sauce with a little bot of sage for wintery-ness and lots of winter veg - greens, carrots, celeriac etc. I loved it!
Tonight we are after a big bowl of comfort food so we're having lentil madras with naan.
