Hmm, not sure, good point! I should decide now so that I don't end up having nothing in particular ready when hub gets home.

Some kind of fried rice thing tonight. I am having a period where I just want to eat rice all the time. This is a very new thing as I didn't eat rice for years after I once ran out of cash and had nothing to eat but rice and popcorn for a few weeks. Plus we have a few eggs to use up and I love eggs with rice.

I think we're going to have chilli tonight. Something comfort-foody anyway.

It's my birthday and we're up at my parents so I got to choose dinner so we've had sirloin steak with dauphinoise potatoes and little garlic roast potatoes (cos I couldn't choose between) and salad. It was really yummy!

Hope you enjoyed your birthday stiltwalker, many happy returns
I have ground to a halt and have no idea what we're going to have tonight, which usually means jacket potatoes with something.

Re: dinner plans for tonight?
I bought the most enormous gammon hock at the farm shop on friday (Its 1.2 kg and has loads of meat on it for just £3.88!)
So I am going to boil that, then roast it with a honey mustard glaze and serve with baked potatoes and salad tonight.
I will save the stock and leftover meat for pea and ham soup later in the week.

Had simple tea tonight as I was out all day with the kids and went out this evening to my sewing group so we just had macaroni cheese or 'makka tease' as DD calls it!

Tonight we're having something to do with roast veg. I have a few bits and bobs that are fit for roasting so that's what's going to happen. what we're going to have it with I have no idea at the minute. Maybe rice stuffed peppers.

Re: dinner plans for tonight?
Last night we ended up having the roast veg and stuff in a kind of bbq sweet and sticky gloop with some wraps. Surprisingly filling so I was well pleased.
Tonight we have more roast veg to use up, I think I'm going to make a kind of shepherdess pie.

Having haggis pie as it is the 25th (Burns). Will serve it with mash and veg and may have a wee dram of whisky later!

Well the haggis pie went down a treat, even with DS who's only just turned 8 months. Looks like he's going to be as fond of food as his big sister!

Tonight - slow roasted shoulder of lamb with herbs, roast potatoes, broccoli, chantaney carrots, peas, gravy and (controversially) yorkshire puddings!

Re: dinner plans for tonight?
Are Yorkshire puddings controversial? Oh, is it because you were having them with something that's not beef?
Last night we had bean burgers, tonight we're having blackeyed bean goulash.
