Re: 2011-2012 winter
It's really sunny today but so windy there's no way I could stick the washing outside unfortunately. The windows are plastered with sand too.

We have got bright sunshine today which is gorgeous, the living area is so warm at the minute, I've got a short sleeved top on. Forecast just says rain for us. Maybe everyone here was right and last year was an anomaly and we're back to no snow now.

Re: 2011-2012 winter
Our forecast said there was no chance we'd have snow today. But here is it. We had rain overnight though so it's not sticking at all. I wouldn't say it's heavy snow but there's a constant stream of it coming down.

Re: 2011-2012 winter
Thank goodness it was mild to day as I had to work on the car and sort out my petrol leak all sorted now but was starting to get a bit cold and dark towards the end.

grrrr I've just discovered two of the fence panels with next door plus a fence post is down which means our dog can't go into the garden as he'll go off exploring next door's and will be able to get out into the close and get himself lost.

We have a fence panel down today, it's one that needs replacing, now I have a gardening budget I'll order one and get it sorted once and for all. Other than the wind the winter hasn't been too bad yet.

Re: 2011-2012 winter
I think the weather is forecast to turn cold today. The strong winds have returned at any rate. I'm very glad we didn't rush out to repair the fence panel, the one next to it flew off the other day too. We were going to order some new ones this week but if the weather's going to be bad there seems little point.
We bought some curtains the other day, fully lined for £65! Really pleased with that, we've been having difficulty finding pencil pleat curtains big enough for our windows and these really fit the bill. The fact they were sale bargains makes it even better. The bedroom is so much warmer and they really help dampen the sound of the wind too so I am in love with them.
As I've been writing this post something has happened! The water has gone off and I don't know why. Don't look quite so paranoid for having bought a couple of 5l bottles now!

Re: 2011-2012 winter
Cold and frosty today. The garden is full of birds using the feeders which is great.
The water came back on later on Thursday afternoon, apparently a valve had gone somewhere and most of my town and half of the next town up had no water. I still don't think the pressure is back to normal but there you go.
