Hope you're all well.
Today my exercise bike arrives I am very excited! Other than that there's not much doing for me today, there's a little bit of laundry to put away and I need to empty the recycling bins but other than that it's just do the minimums and then have a nice sit down. Looks like it's going to be another sunny day so it looks promising.
i was looking at exercise bikes in the catalogue at the weekend let us know what its like? Is it a foldaway one?

Hi,
No it's not a foldaway one, it's a Bremshey Control E. It's magnetic rather than a tension one so it wasn't as cheap as some you can get (mine cost £300). But I like a lot of resistance so if you were looking just for something for a good bit of cardio and not that bothered about pretending you're cycling up a mountain some of the tension ones are pretty good vfm.

Re: what are you all doing today?
I think I may have just won a bar of soap!
We were in Manchester a couple of weeks ago, bought a nice bag from Pop Boutique and was not overly excited by North Tea Power - I was disappointed as everyone have rattled on about how amazing it is for months. I loved the interior but the tea as only ok and the cake was rubbish! So not a win for me on that occasion.
Have fun.

A Faith In Nature seaweed soap. They're running competitions this week on facebook and that was the one for today. I love their stuff so I hope I have won. I've had quite a few "wins" from pages I like there.
Has anyone else won anything on facebook?

Oh lucky you with the soap I didnt know stuff like that went on on facebook
I am back to let you know that I did get off my backside this morning...for once!
I opened all the windows and back door cos its nice here for a change get lots of fresh air in
dusted downstairs, picked up all the stuff lying about and put it away then for some weird reason, not planned at all, decided to wash some shelving units and table from the greenhouse and tidy out cupboard under the stairs (again)
shelves and table now dry, under the stairs and have got loads of stuff out my kitchen and under the stairs
in between that got 4 loads of washing done and hung out and emptied and refilled the DW
but i really need to hoover and i dont want to, think I would have a temper tantrum if someone tried to make me  and not sure why? im being strange today i think

Re: what are you all doing today?
Good work so far! Housework is like exercise, it feels best when you've got up and done it even when you really don't want to.
Freebies wise I've had stuff from Clipper, One Difference (a water jug and filters), Dorset Cereal, organic coffee from somewhere, can't remember, some rabbit food and money off vouchers from Burgess and a fat quarter from a crafty blogger.
eta, if your local tourism people are on there they might have competitions too. eg today Visit Blackpool have free passes for the new Blackpool Tower Dungeon, they give away passes for the Pleasure Beach, Mme Tussauds and all that stuff. Visit Lancashire have loads of foodie competitions for meals out and stuff like that. Your local area will probably do the same thing even if it's not a holiday place.

Fat Quarters are precut bits of fabric usually used for quilting and are 1/4 of a yard in size.

Re: what are you all doing today?
First I had a phonecall from DD1 asking if I would go watch 4 of my GS's while she popped out for a few bits from the shop. She was meeting up with some of the mum's from school and their children for a picnic in the local park...a cheap day out she said
Had a phone call from DD3, she was at our house wondering where I was lol ....she made herself a cuppa and waited while I got back...she stopped and had some dinner with GS8 and her Dad....she hadn't seem him for a while because he's been harvesting...why do girls come home to see their Daddy's? lol
Just having a cuppa, checking up on what you lot are up to, and then I better get some 'home hugging' done
It's absolutely glorious here today

I posted a reply in this thread and it hasn't appeared....after several hours :face:
Editing to add what I put before..
Had to get cracking this morning as I was rather behind with the old homemaking lark. Customer in wanting a coat alteration, 'raid the £800 Jaeger sheepskin coat can't be done in the same format as it is at the moment, but will think about it. She didn't pay that for it, obviously has an eye for a bargain. She also has a job I can do, a reversible coat/jacket which needs remodeling to fit. Major job but an expensive garment so worth it.
Ah , yes, the home making. Friend was coming for pedicure and lunch, so had to make an effort downstairs. DS managed to vac round for me. He went to get some cold cuts for lunch as well. WHile he was out I got a call to say that his A level music was now an A rather than a B. School paid for a remark for the performance element, which was upgraded from a D to an A. Pleased? I'll say.
Now all appointments done for the day. Can't decide whether to get on and do some sewing jobs or whether to look at a top I started for myself...last year! I'm loving that I have ditched the job at a 6th form college a few hours a week. It was a lot of hassle, two part mornings, being there for 8.45. I only handed in my resignation a few weeks ago, decided that I would take a risk that the sewing/beauty/holistics would continue to increase. So far so good. I can be a homemaker as well. At least if I"m not too busy!

I am sooooo proud of myself
I am the best mum ever!!! so thinks my son yippee
I fixed his Xbox
it wasnt working and a code came up so I went to the website and followed all their directions for taking all the bits out and put it all back together and it works!!! woohoo
I am not technically minded, their dad does all that kind of stuff, I havent even set up my laptop he did it
so it might not seem much to others but to me wow its almost like climbing Everest (ok bit of an exageration!) but im dead chuffed with myself and just had to share with you lot
