Probably a stupid question BUT......
id rather ask it on here rather than on MSE........
I want to do some baking and have eggs from the local farm which in the past have all been double yolkers.
If I have a double yolk egg is it still 1 egg or is it 2 eggs?

If the eggs are all more or less the same size, then I would count it as 1 egg, the mix will just be richer, there's probably less white.

I'm sure whatever you make will be extra yummy.
I had chips, egg and beans for tea tonight - it would have been even nicer with double yolkers!

Around 2 ounces? If you're making sponge cake you're supposed to use the same weight of flour, marg, sugar and eggs and the standard mix is 4oz/4oz/4oz/2 eggs, so a med egg is 2oz. Or 56g approx.

yes i always thought it was two ounces. i have one bantam chicken...the rest were eaten by a polecat this winter...and she lays very tiny eggs...so i usually use two of her eggs in place of 1 shop bought egg.
