Charity gift, books for a school, to set up a water pump or sanitation somewhere etc - then at least if she doesn't like it the money has gone to a good cause and you don't feel like you've wasted your cash.

dvd's? bath stuff? big fluffy dressing gown and slippers? nice cookbook and ingredients to make something? craft things? yankee candles? these are all things I've got my sister in the past, she is very hands on though and loves making things

Re: gift ideas please
I think you're very kind to continue to try to think of something suitable. Personally I wouldn't waste my energy and cash on someone who doesn't appreciate your efforts, relative or no relative. Me and my eldest brother have nothing in common other than our parents so we said years ago that we wouldn't bother with gifts and it works well.

Re: gift ideas please
I think what you have got so far is a good choice. The slanket sounds a brill idea. What about something like a National Trust pass ????? Is she into that sort of thing ???? A couple of tickets for her and her partner to go somewhere ??? Or maybe a gift token so she can choose for herself ???? Hope you think of something, and that she is grateful for your efforts :-)
