I do occasionally but it's only on an ad hoc basis when someone asks me if I'll make something, I don't sell on Folksy or anything. I've made stuff like cushion covers, doorstops, bags and I tart up furniture too. None of my mates can be bothered/have time to do but they know I like it so it works well.

Re: does anyone make anything and sell it?
I do make things to sell.....100% cotton hand knitted dish and floor cloths that can be slung in the washer. We recently had a quilt show and very much tongue in cheek I put a basket of 16 dish cloths and a floor cloth on our stall, I sold the lot and also has orders for more.
I make quilts, but I find that people do not understand the time, effort and cost of making a quilt, so most of the ones I make I give away or have around the house, on the back of chairs or folded on the bottom of a bed.
I make various other things, shabby chic cushion covers, table mats and pot holders, ring pillows for weddingd or as presents for Christenings with the childs date of bith on. lavender bags, cards to name but a few.

Re: does anyone make anything and sell it?
i make a fair bit of stuff too but not to sell.
i like to make blankets for the sofa and beds. cushion covers, dishcloths etc.
im currently working on a pheasant tapestry and another winter blanket for the sofa.
dishcloths are a constant and i usually give them away. i keep the whole family supplied.
i love making things and have loads of ideas. i hate the fact that i have to go to work and it interfers with my crafting.
i also enjoy cooking and have often thought of selling muffins etc but dont think there is enough money in it plus being rural there are fuel costs involved.
would love to tho xx

To make the wooden hearts I'd just get some thinnish wood, draw on a heart and cut it out with a jigsaw, sand the edges then paint. You can also buy the ready cut hearts, #hobbyCraft sell 5 thin ones for about £1.

Re: does anyone make anything and sell it?
I've made cards to sell and last year I made Christmas craft items to sell. To be honest unless you're selling at a proper craft fair I find people aren't prepared to pay for hand made items. Bit to used to Primarni cheapness. Mind you I made myself a fabric handbag and a mum at school wanted me to make her one. For me it's a question of time, I can't afford to give up childminding but with my own kids being so young I am finding it a struggle to fit it all in (and spending too long on MSE doesn't help either
) Perhaps when they are a bit older I can do more craft stuff and try and sell it on Folksy but for the moment that's on a back burner for at least another year until my youngest is in full time school.
Re: does anyone make anything and sell it?
I used to do craft fairs with a mixed stall of everthing from cards to bags, books and jewellery but I've not been near my craft stash since the kids were born. I WILL get around to getting back into it one day!

you name it....I've had a go at it lol
half finished craft projects all over the place....this is another thing that I want to get sorted out...and de-clutter the place!
It's just getting the motivation together...the more time I have, the more I procrastinate...thats a big word for me!

Re: does anyone make anything and sell it?
I'm thinking of selling my crochet projects, mainly kiddies woolly hats.
My problem is I never think my work is good enough even though my kids wear the stuff I make quite comfortably.
I'm also wondering will people pay more for a hat because it is hand made (in order for me to make a profit) or whether cheap is better.
It's a risk to invest in so much yarn to only have piles of hats I can't shift or have to sell cheaply and make loss.
I guess I should start slowly.

I've been busy
I've started a blog (mainly about me, a diary of my life) and got a business idea... and started making! I am very excited to actually be doing something other than being a housewife and mum.
I am now a mum, homemaker and mumpreneur! Wish me luck, I'm going to need it because there are so many people making and selling children's hats. Somehow I have to dazzle folk
