Music and Films
We've talked about books, tv and the rights and wrongs of Robert Pattinson as a sex symbol so how about music and films? What do you like, what do you not like? Do you go to the cinema often or to see live music? Anything and everything really.

Re: Music and Films
Well I keep saying to OH we should start going to the cinema but it is a round trip of 40 miles , then if he falls asleep like he does when he sits down I will spend all night poking him
I've not gone for yonks can't remember the last film at the flicks I saw its was probably something kiddy like with my kids.

Re: Music and Films
Am off to see Bryan Adams at NEC in December, can't wait don't go to many gigs but this one came up and he was fantastic last time I saw him at Warwick Castle.
We do go to the cinema but we have to rely on babysitters and something worthwhile to watch so our nights out tend to be every 2-3 months.
I do love live music, I really want Huey Lewis and the News to tour the UK again as their gig was sooooooo much fun. I'd love to go and see Andre Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra but the ticket prices are a bit

Re: Music and Films
I don't think we're going to bother with War Horse but we might go to see The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. I haven't read the book so I can't get irate about how different the film is (if indeed it does deviate).
We went to our local cinema for the first time this week. It only reopened last summer after being shut for a few years. It's set up as a "family cinema" so we don't fancy most of the films but they had an evening showing of the Sherlock Holmes film so we decided to give it a go rather than drive to the big Odeon in the next town. The cinema decor-wise was pretty basic and the auditorium had less than 100 seats but it was great! And it was cheaper than the big cinema which made it more appealing. We'll go again next time there's something interesting on.
We're going to the Odeon at the start of next month as they're showing Il Trittico from the Royal Opera house. Should be good, never seen it before so I'm excited about it.

Re: Music and Films
Recently saw girl with the dragon tattoo and it was good but found the 3 dvd trilogy in sainsbob for £18 so bought that and thought it was better. Had a Stig Larsson fest on a sunday! It was a swedish version with dubbed english over but it was so well done it didnt really detract from the film.
Our cinema is mega expensive and we decided to knock it on the head for this year as we are trying to cut back a lot on spending and save more.

Re: Music and Films
I love going to the cinema. I used to go see a film about 4 times a week when we had an arthouse place where I lived. We've only just started going again and now we have our little cinema in the town I really want to support it.

Re: Music and Films
too expensive these days. Hate other people talking and playing with mobiles etc while film is on and people coming in late etc.
Since having sky movies etc dont need to go to cinema or get a dvd out etc they are all there or on Box office.

Re: Music and Films
I've never experienced people being noisy or messing about with their phones so that's not something that's put me off. Besides, I see it as a social thing, I enjoy the shared experience of seeing something with others rather than just sitting at home all the time. Each to their own.
