Grrrr not to happy
I friend of mine is looking for a Nissan SkylineR33 GRT unmodified ie stock. They are imported cars
Now he doesn't feel confident to go look at some on his own and ask all the right questions even though I've given him a copy of the buyers guide from the Skyline forum.
So he'd asked me to go with him and do all the talking and testing for him.
I said I was to happy to help as I don't what him buying one with a blown turbo or get ripped off.
The place he'd seen one as advertised was supposed to have been a specialist japanese import showroom.
We arrive and I'm not very impressed most of the cars are not even japanese or clean.
After a while of looking for the skyline advertised and not finding it a salesman come's up and turns to my friend and says, "Looking for a little run around for the mrs"
My friend goes compley scarlet he's very shy and clearly a bit younger than I am.
I jump in with "The Skyline GTR advertised I can't see it has it already been sold?"
He doesn't even look at me but carries on to my friend, " We have a large range of little cars"
To which my friend said, "The skyline, please can you show us it and can you answer the ladies questions about it"
We finally got to see the car it wasn't what was advertised wasn't even an R33 GTR but a GTT and the guy kept agrueing with me on what the difference was between the two models, couldn't answer a single one of my questions and all the time he refused to even look at me but addressed everything to my friend. Who was clearly looking to me to advise him.
The salesman couldn't even get it started and didn't now where the battery was in the car. I of course found it and it wasn't even the correct rated battery so I had to drive my car onto the lot and take my battery out of my car to start the skyline
Only to find black oily smoke coming out of the exhaust the turbo seals were gone but he wouldn't have it.
I really annoys me when some car salesmen clearly know nothing about what they are selling and they treat woman as if they know nothing and look right through us.
My friend was very embrassed and kept apolozing to me for the guys rudness.
Needless to say I didn't suggest we even bother taking the car for a test drive.
My friend has now asked me if I will source one for him as this was the first one he saw advertised.
Grrr what is it with some car salemen??????

Thanks Bitsy Beans, Skyline batteries are usually in the boot not in the engine bay so a bit different from most cars but as a 'specialist japanese car importer showroom' you would think the salesman would know that

I'm not surprised you were cross Aisles, how patronising - made worse by the fact that you're obviously more knowledgeable than the salesman so he doesn't have a leg to stand on.
