the "I refuse to go shopping until we get paid" thread

as the title says. I damn well refuse to go to the damn supermarket until we damn well get paid on friday. we have enough specialist milk and dairy free marge too...!
so what if we end up with some REALLY weird dinners this week?!
last night my mum made us dinner, but about 8pm when we got home hubby and i were peckish so I used the last of the packet bread and leftover lactose free cream to make a chocolate bread and butter pudding. we ate it while watching some nice, old 1960s scifi.

tonight's dinner is gonna be good though. home made frozen chilli and rice. possibly home made rolls if I can be bothered to get off my bum and make some.
tomorrow something with bendy veg and chicken. and/or home grown brussels. chicken and kinda bendy leek pie perhaps?

as for wednesday onwards. not a clue as yet hahahaha.

sounds good flibsey i havent got to the weird suppers yet this month but will in about a week of so i think...that will be fun

soda bread tonight. hubby attempted "proper" rolls yesterday and his kneading needs practise.

no, don't. I love the term!!!!

tried soda bread today. Sophie's take on it: "it's kind of like cornbread, only not really nice."

ok. I gave in. after a breakfast of raisins and slightly soft biscuits, I relented.

£89 lighter, but got meat for 2 weeks, milk for the same and tins for a month.

Don't beat yourself up about it Flibsey, It's nearly Friday after all.

I stopped the beating when james and I made a meal together an had a lovely time doing it lol. he made the flatbreads with some soya yogurt while I was doing a lovely lamb curry and soph was watching tv. it was so nice to reconnect to be honest, we've not been doing this kind of thing recently as we've been eating heat it yourself dinners lol.

I pop to the supermarket far too often for stuff, when the kids started back to school last month I made a pact that once we had run out of something it would have to wait until I went again the following Friday. We always have milk in, longlife stuff as kids drink it in bulk and butter and bread in the freezer, they are a staple on every shop anyway, have found we have spent much less money not popping out every other day, just hope I can keep it up!

@Flibsey I did that a month or two back, after my op at the end of May we were just eating what was easiest. Back to proper cooking now and much happier.
