Midweek Catch Up
I think it's been a little quieter here this week, I hope that means everyone's nice and busy getting stuff done and having a good time.
So, what have you been doing this week? Fill us in on what you've been up to.

Re: Midweek Catch Up
Hi alec
Well I've been painting the kitchen ceiling. It looks bright in there now.
Doing odd jobs around the house to keep on top of it.
Been round my friends for a cuppa.
Tried to make my winter wreath but it looked terrible! that's now gone in the bin.
ergh, that's it. Erm, a bit boring at no.7 this week

Re: Midweek Catch Up
Sometimes boring is good, boring is often practical and practical needs to be done!
Have you seen the wreath tutorials on pinterest where they use a length of pip insulation stuff to use as a base. Makes it look so simple. Not that I've tried it, not really my kind of thing.
Other than on Tuesday when he had to go in for some team bonding thing Dan has been off work this week so we've been having a few lazy days. We went to Blackpool yesterday to look at the comedy carpet and it is brilliant. I am also on a mission to photograph any brutalist architecture when I come across it before it's all pulled down and lost to us forever so I've been doing that too. Other than that we've been playing on the wii, reading, cooking and just enjoying time at home. My parents are coming on Monday afternoon to cut back the garden. I know it needs to be done but I kind of like the huge, overgrown, higgeldy piggeldy nature of it. Ah well, it'll grow back.

Re: Midweek Catch Up
Hi
Boring week here too, just doing usual housework around the house, my sister said to go round yesterday though to break the week up and I ended up staying all day which was nice but meant nothing got done yesterday, normally I like getting dinner prepared early on so just have to switch everything "on" but ended up rushing to get kiddies from school and then keeping them amused and sorting tea out at same time. Today just doing usual housework, got 3 loads of washing on the line as didn't do any yesterday so fingers crossed it doesn't rain. Tomorrow I do the usual weekly food shop.

stiltwalker - good luck for your exam, fingers crossed for you.
Yes, we have been a bit quiet this week.... monday was busy with housework, a bit of gardening and sewing a couple of fleeces together to line one curtain, got the other two to sew this pm. Tuesday went for a nosey around some charity shops and bought a couple of pudding basins (yes, I know how to live eh?), Wednesday met a friend for breakfast and another nosey around some more charity shops in a posh area and bought a really nice picture, today went to see a neighbour who is not well and prepared dinner and made soup and got the other fleeces to sew together.
Its quiet around home as well but my neighbour told me of another burglary in our immediate area, that two in two weeks. Last night, we bought two more bolts for our gates so we can put them in the middle (have already got ones at the top of the gates), and since hearing about the 2nd burglary am wondering what else I can do. I was burgled on christmas eve in my previous home and caught them in the act. It was not a pleasant situation so am a bit wary now. The police reckoned it was friends of friends who knew what we had and where it was so I stopped being an 'open house' after this.

Re: Midweek Catch Up
I've still been decluttering even the scary cupboard, don't have an attic so the one cupboard under the eaves get abused quite a bit.
Been catching up a paperwork, also been out in the garden.
I'm a very bitty person, I do a bit here and a bit there I've set myself a target of getting certain jobs finished by the end of October, its looking good so far.

Re: Midweek Catch Up
I've been very busy too, got everything through on Wednesday for my first OU course, it officially doesn't start until November so trying to read as much of the textbook as I can and take some notes before it starts as I'll probably need all the help I can get.
Friend gave me a study planner so have used that to organise my studying plus housework!! It seems to be working quite well.
Yesterday was a sad day as it was 7 year's since my mum passed, hubby bought me a lovely bunch of flowers as I was sad, and a chocolate orange with popping candy!!

I have been unpacking my case. Ive done two loads of washing and soon to go off into town to get some food and weigh myself. Want to see if i put any weight on on holiday. Feeling sad we wont see any decent sunshine for a while now and its getting colder but hey ho thats life. Should be used to it by now.

The post holiday come down is worse at this time of year isn't it when you come from the sunshine to mainly grey days. And I know a lot of people won't be looking forward to the clocks going back this weekend either. All those super short days. Having said that I can see a flock of about 12-15 goldfinches in the garden just now so I can't be too grumpy!

Re: Midweek Catch Up
I'm having my hair cut tomorrow. Should have had it done a last month but I didn't so now it's a bit straggly!
Today is another long day for me, Dan had a 12 and a bit hour day on Monday, was in London yesterday so was our from 6-9, today and tomorrow are 8-8 too. Hopefully he'll have enough flexi time to take Friday off so we can go to the Lakes for the day. Got loads of little niggly jobs done yesterday, today I think I'm just going to read a few blogs and get some of the wallhanging done. I've had loads of time this week but no inclination!

Re: Midweek Catch Up
Today we went for a meal with OHs sister and husband. We went to a local cheap but chearful pub restraunt. My eldest came along, and my youngest. It was good to catch up with SIL :-) Tonight is Lifegroup. Other than that, it's a pretty quiet mid week for me, which is nice :-)
