Its monday what are you up to

Morning all
My OH is home today hopefully if the weather behaves, he has been away for 3 weeks so looking forward to seeing him
Lots of cleaning getting done today as not much gets done when hes home
The weather here is cold and damp and grey yuck but not too windy yet, fingers crossed it misses us as i dont think the fence can take much more

Last couple of days of having dd at home before we take her back to uni, promised to take her shopping for replacement kitchen bits ect.
Need to pop to local market town dd got a drs appointment.
Not sure to take her shopping today or tomorrow, see what she wants to do, if not shopping must clean and

Already been to Aldi while dd was in the doc's. Loads of food and all healthy. Going to start packing myself some soups and things away for days when I can't be bothered in the winter.

Also finish (I hope) clearing the contents of my wax pot up from the treatment/sewing room. Seee Flibsey's thread uurrrrrrrggh!

Then might investigate a wax system that uses cassettes rather than a pot!

Above all I just want to have a quiet day at home and encourage the kids to get all their camping stuff away from the weekend!

pleased your DH is coming home lollyfin Cleaning and washing for me too dolly blue and Purple Ivy I'm determined to shop at Aldi next week, I just cannot afford Tesco's any longer.

Nothing much I'm upto really, I'll fly around the house doing a general tidy and polish the living room. Wanted to clean the window but that wind is getting nasty now - just as we walk in from the school run so thats good.

It's a bit more windy than usual here, but it's always windy so I'm getting used to it! So far today I've done the minimums and made a start sanding the paintwork in the porch. I would love to get everything but the doors done today so we shall see. Other than that not much planned.

Got up at 5am, one of my daughters was on breakfast shift at the hotel where she's a comi chef under the tender care of her BIG sister who is head chef there :-) She was going to cycle in, but the weather was rubbish, and I would have worried big time, knowing she was cycling about 7miles along roads that are not very good. just as well I did, on the way she told me one of her lights had gone on her bike, and she was wearing black ?????? and didn't have an illuminous jacket thing ????? So, got her to work safely. Went back to bed for a while and read, then got up at 7am. By 8.30 I had washing hung up, another load in the machine, stew on in the slow cooker, bread on in the bread machine, sorted school lessons for my one remaining pupil, and had my breakfast :-) Think my daughter should need to go into work at 5am every morning lol.
Since 8.30, I've had a friend over for for a chat and some prayer time, hung some more washing up, and got another load on. I'm feeling pretty industrious lol.
I have however managed to upset another daughter, who wanted a lift into work, same town as other daughter, but seeing the buses were awake and running, and they are very regular, I was a bit heartless when she said I might not see her again, as the strong wind might blow her away :-( poor thing.
This afternoon, I am having an afternoon tea with my early rising daughter in a local hotel. All cafes are shut by 3pm here :-( I like to try and catch up with my older children along the way, somehow. Just to touch base with them. Easy to get 'lost in the crowd,' when you are part of a large family.
Tonight I have a meeting to go to, so it's a pretty full on day today.

I can never seem to keep all my kids happy either and i "only" have four
My house sparkling is done for the day yippee
Now I am just going to relax until everyone appears at about the same time, kids in at 4 OH and eldest DD (whos picking him up) about 4.30.

Pretty grotty weather here, hope yours is better lollyfin, glad your OH coming home. Taken DD to her new group for kids with mobility issues for first time today and she was fab, did a great painting and was the only kid not to throw a wobbly, DS got lots of cuddles from the volunteers as well while I was spending time helping DD. Since I have the car though I will have to go and pick OH up from work later. Just about to make us really good lunch as DD will be really hungry after working so hard this morning. Have a bunch of ironing to do later and a dark wash to put in when OH gets back and takes his work shirt off.
Is that the supersavvy bold thing TP? Mine came while I ws out so will do the wash later with it, smellys yummy in the bottle but got a sneaky suspicion that OH will think it smells a bit girly! Never mind, no one will notice once he's half inched an OP (other peoples) ciggie at work. He thought I didn't know til I dropped it in conversation last week and made him blush! We gave up when I was pregnant with DD, slipped back in between and then gave up again last summer when I got pregnant with DS and I've said that this time we are not slipping as they are too blummin expensive but OH really misses them and sneaks them at work!

It was far too cold to carry on sanding in the porch so I'm rearranging the upstairs cupboards and drawers - I've never been happy with how they're organised so we'll see what happens. Winds really getting up now, but it's no worse than we've had before, hope it stays that way. Keep warm and safe everyone!

I have been busy doing the housework this morning, it is now looking tidy, but I am shattered so I think I will go and have an afternoon nap to recharge my batteries.
