The Queens Jubilee.......
..... is any one doing any thing?
The village is closing the main road through the village centre and holding a Party/fete.
I've been roped in to serve refreshments all afternoon from the church after our morning service. DH might also be 'Streaming' the televisied event over the church's PA/big screen system.

I'm not planning to do anything. I'm sure there will be something happening in the town that we might wander down to but we're not having a street party or anything. I do know someone who has won tickets for the big party thingamy in London though which is great for her.
I really enjoyed the last jubilee as the World Cup was on, we'd just moved from York *hooray* and were installed in our new flat. It was as close to perfect as you could get. We have a ton of photos from 1977 too although I can't remember it, my mum and her friends arranged a street party and everyone decorated the houses and spent the day and evening out socialising.

Our street isn't doing anything, but our local park has an event on: Rides for the children, stalls, food and drink and a stage where local community groups will be performing. It is a free event and they are asking people to wear Red, White and blue. It sounds fun, I just hope we have good weather and isn't a wash out like the Easter weekend was.

I like the idea of getting people to dress in red, white and/or blue.
