How many do you have and where do you keep them/it?

Re: Where do you keep your laundry basket?
We have one, it's big pink recycled rice bag! At the minute it lives behind the bathroom door. It used to live in the bedroom but I noticed we got changed in the bathroom more so it made sense to move it.
Where does everyone keep their baskets for dry laundry/ironing (if you have one), airers and things like that? I have a home for my airers but the basket is a big too bulky to fit anywhere easily.

bin lives in the bedroom
airer in the cupboard and laundry basket when they are not being used! Sometimes they escape and lie around.

This is my issue, the basket ends up lying around which means I tend to find a rabbit sitting in it (sorry, I know I go on about my rabbits a lot!)

Re: Where do you keep your laundry basket?
I did try that, it became a fascinating new thing to sit on! Which is fine until the time comes to use it and there's growling and thumping when you try to shift them. I think I need a hook so I can hang it in the pantry. We don't have a lot of floor space we I could make better use of the vertical space... Thanks TP - you've helped me have a potentially good idea!

Re: Where do you keep your laundry basket?
I am loving the image of your rabbits taking over your laundry basket...
I have 3 laundry baskets youngest DD seems to have permenantly pinched one to just leave all her stuff in!
One sits at the top of the stairs for the dirty washing to go in and the other sits on top of the washing machine for putting stuff out.
that way when i take the washing down i have the dirty washing one to fill with stuff that everyone has taken downstairs back upstairs again, saves lots of trips
My ironing basket is a big wicker one and sits under a table in the living room
Ironing board and iron cupboard under the stairs and airers are in the conservatory at the mo but need to find a better hidey place for them

Laughing to myself
You know I've been wondering about the best place to keep the laundry basket/s for ages but thought it was too shallow to share, so am delighted we have this forum to discuss things that Must Not Be Mentioned to Others Lest They Think We are Boring! Mine's in the bathroom, but as we always get undressed in the bedroom at night, it means a pile of dirty clothes sits on our bedroom floor all night, and depending on efficiency the next day. Tried a second laundry basket in the bedroom but looked a bit too 'bathroomy', if you know what I mean.

Ikwym Bev, the laundry basket is generally not a design statement! We used to have one from Lakeland that was a bag on a hanger so I would hang it on the inside of the wardrobe or the bedroom door (I know, not good Feng Shui). It was useful but unattractive.

Re: Where do you keep your laundry basket?
Right now it's in the garden sopping wet because I forgot to bring it in last night.
We have a grey plastic one in the kitchen next to washer and I'm afraid to say just a pile in my bedroom. I must get a proper laundry basket though as it looks unsightly and the big spiders tend to hide under there
Also those huge ikea bags come in handy too (when I have a lot!)

Re: Where do you keep your laundry basket?
i have 4! i have a framed one from ikea with 2 parts in it so i put darks in one side and coloured in the other then i have another basket for towels and i put my whites in a laundry bag and keep them in the same basket, this way i can easily lift stuff out and not need to sift through it, well thats when DH doesnt just dump it all in any basket . i also have a large plastic one with a lid at the top of the stairs for laundry from bathroom etc and i always hope that it means DH doesnt just dump it downstairs!! i do always seem to have a lot of washing and its mainly from our DS's or towels from daily baths its its clean towels each time

I've got 4 too! A dark brown wicker basket in our bedroom, a smaller one the same style in the boys room, a large plastic one I use for hanging out the washing and a small plastic one I keep in the hall cupboard for ironing.

Re: Where do you keep your laundry basket?
I'm after a small one to go on the landing. We have a little bit that juts out over the stairs so it will be tucked away and secured by the banister but I'm just a bit worried the girls will climb on it and fall over the stairs.
Will have to assess how much of it is anxiety/panic and how much of it is an actual risk. (You haven't met the panicky ass in me yet have you )
