It's Friday, so what are YOU doing?
Following on from the comment that OP made in a similar thread, I've started one just for today.
I'm feeling virtuous, as I'm nearly ready to go to school with DS who has a rehearsal with his accompanist. He is playing for Prizegiving at a big place in a big city near us beginning with an M. I don't know what to wear! Normally I send OH to this occasion, but DS has prizes for Music, Brass and academic achievement in addition to his A Level cert. We have a reception to go to after the ceremony, as it's his last year.
I've also tidied and thrown some stuff from the dormer windowledge and bathroom cab in our bedroom. Plan to tackle some ironing before we go. I have a frothy white wedding dress to sort out, but not sure whether to tackle that today or leave till after the weekend. It depends on what my designer chap turns up with.
Other than that it's prep for the weekend, as I have my Bro and family coming for Sat and Sun nights. They're taking us out tomorrow to eat, so only one proper meal to do. Best make some more bread too! I shall be happy pottering at home later on!

Re: It's Friday, so what are YOU doing?
Morning!
I seem to say this every day but I don't have too much to do today. I always have a dash about making sure everything is as it should be ready for the weekend so I'll be making sure all the washing up is done, everywhere is hoovered, all laundry away, rabbits tidied up (for as long as that lasts!) and generally have a putter about. My parents are coming tomorrow to help us finish off the patio area so I won't keep falling over when I go through the back door. I also had the blinding revelation last night that the paint colour we've taken 16 months to choose is now not what I want. Back to the paint charts.
Have a great long weekend everyone.

So far I've tidied kitchen and living room, made beds and taken doggies for a walk. Thinking of cleaning the dreaded bathroom next, it's one job I hate, especially with 2 boys, well 3 if you count DH, messy lot! Going to tackle the ironing pile this afternoon.

Re: It's Friday, so what are YOU doing?
So tired today YAWNNNNNNNN
Got up at 7.30, walked the dog, cleaned the bathroom and downstairs loo and tidied the lounge.
I need to go into town today to buy some gloss paint. Whilst I was in Manchester I went to see my gran and she was getting rid of a radiator cover. So ive brought it home and im going to paint it and put it in my hall (once the decorating has been finished).
Got a Studio catalogue through the door this morning and even though its been paid off I am going to order from it as I am £15 in credit (forgot to cancel the SO so another payment went out) so I am going to spend it then ask they close the account. Too much hassle to ask them for a repayment and would take ages so figured its easier just to spend it. So ive ordered some bits n bobs for Christmas.
Grey and miserable here but the rain has stopped for now. Hope it picks up later ive got washing to hang out!

Re: It's Friday, so what are YOU doing?
Just puttering at home with the kids today, it's pretty miserable out and the car is in for its MOT Might go out and do some puddle splashing with DD and her new wellybobs later. Think we'll have pizza for tea tonight so will have to think about making dough after lunch, if I make a couple of salads too the leftovers will do for lunch the next couple of days. We're complete pizza monsters here, I end up making 3 plus a garlic bread so we have a selection and some leftovers. This is for 2 adults and 1 2 year old with a very good appetite - heaven only knows how many I'll have to make when they are teens!!! But it's a meal we love - bit like a Pizza Hut buffet but with real pizza!

Re: It's Friday, so what are YOU doing?
Today I have seen eldest DD off with family to stop in a caravan at Filey....its still pouring down here, but they got there ok
Youngest DD called this morning for a coffee with her little one.
Quick beans on toast for me and hubby and then I set to work on the house.
Cleaned utility room (had my mums budgies in there for a few days while she went away...there's bl***dy feathers everywhere!)
Put 2 loads of washing in and then in tumble drier (I know I know)
Gave the kitchen a quick swish round
Dusted, hoovered the sitting room
Hoovered the stairs and hall
I've felt really good today

Re: It's Friday, so what are YOU doing?
This morning I finished some printing (lots of it!) for someone we know. Then, made an early lunch, changed the bedding, cleaned the bathroom, re-arranged some dust, added a few more items to Turbo Lister ready to upload onto eBay on Sunday and did half an hour on a web project I'm working on. Forgot to get something out of the freezer for tea so we might venture out to eat, otherwise it's fish fingers! Harvester's Early Bird Menu sounds promising - especially if DH pays!!! I know, should eat at home but it's been a busy week and it's nice to go out now and again. At least it's stopped raining for now. Need to make a few more Christmas cards over the week-end as I'm falling behind with this. Also need to book the dog in at the vets for her boosters. Don't need much shopping so the HK purse will be happy!

Re: It's Friday, so what are YOU doing?
I'm not sure what to do?
Do we resurrect this friday thread or start a new one each time? TP and lovely people what would you prefer?
Anyway i'll post here for now..... I'm off out shopping! It's my birthday soon so have some gift money from my mum. I'm heading to Primark with my sis in the hope I can find an outfit because I'm going out for a meal tomorrow night.
Also on the list are kiddies pj's, slipper socks for us all and vests for DD#1 (littleDD is having her handme downs
There's a pan of broth made for tea so quite a relaxing day for me. I will need to tidy my bedroom though, that task is becoming a bit of a frog

Today I need to do some shopping and hopefully make some cakes :-) Going to pop into the wool shop and get some more of the netty yarn and do another scarf. Drop my nearly 17yr old off at her friends house, and try and think of something for dinner tonight lol.
Have a blessed day everyone.

Re: It's Friday, so what are YOU doing?
for me personally i would think a new thread each day rather than resurrecting but im happy to go along with everyone else. when i saw this this morning i thought blimey all that many people cant be up already and posting what they are doing today and then when i looked at the date i realised it was last fridays thread.
anyway this friday i am off to a local health spa with 3 of my pals for the night. really looking forward to it.
the building work continues so im looking forward to seeing what has been achieved whilst im gone and my doggy comes back from kennels tomorrow too - i cant wait to see him.
apart from that a tidy up before i go as we have had ed and gdd staying over for the last two nights and its totally trashed here lol.
see you probably sunday night xx

Re: It's Friday, so what are YOU doing?
We're going to watch the Blackpool illuminations switch on!
Very cheesy I know but it's usually a very nice night. We walk up to one of the headlands where there's a big screen showing the concert thing, everyone just mills around, people fly kites or play football on the beach. It's a really nice relaxed atmosphere, lots of families and people having fun. We nip to a cafe for a hot chocolate then enjoy the sunset over the sea and the first view of the lights (it's not really a first view as they've been testing them for the last few weeks) then we walk home along the dunes.
Today I'll be doing my normal Friday run around and make sure everywhere's tidy and organised for the weekend.
Have a good day.

Re: It's Friday, so what are YOU doing?
Glory, I thought I'd really lost the plot when I found I'd started today's thread and written a message. I really couldn't remember doing it. I know that it's only 9.18, but I've done a lot more today than by this time some days this week.
DS is having 'the boys' round for beer and pizza (actually, my ds would prioritise that differently, the home made pizzas are FAR more important to him!) so I need to get on the ball. Especially as I now have a friend coming round to have her nails shellacked later on. I need several (? maybe two or three lots of dough through the bread machine, so not sure what time I need to start.
DD now insured on the car for the next three weeks, so I have my errand girl/chauffeuse again! She will take ds to do shopping for his party. She's also going to make brownies for the boys. You see, I'm playing on her strengths! It's the way to get kids to help.
Right, put the first lot of washing on last night, so best get it out......have already been to tesco to get yeast...why doesn't Aldi have yeast?

Re: It's Friday, so what are YOU doing?
I wanted to go to the jumble today, but Soph has decided that no. she'll kick up a stink if we do. normally I'd drag her along anyway, but it's her last summer holiday week day and I don't fancy upsetting her lol.
plus the fact, we've got the dentist later on. then after the dentist I might go to asda and offer sophie a small bribe lol! I know. terrible parenting, but I just want a quiet day!
later on we'll be cooking dinner and making a batch of flatbreads to freeze. then if theres time between housework and sorting soph out, I might sew together the top I cut out a few days ago.

Re: It's Friday, so what are YOU doing?
Before we moved next door I'd only ever been to Blackpool twice, once when I was tiny and once when I went on a trip with college so it's all new to me. I'm one of those "Romancing the Ordinary" types so like to find beauty everywhere - even when it's "ugly beauty" so I love going to BPL now. I love how there's nothing cynical about it, everyone who visits is just there to have a good time in whatever form that takes - lots of people sneer about it and yes, there are large areas of deprivation but I love to just walk up there and go with it.
I love the lights because it's just such a weird thing to have, we drive through them late at night just before they're switched off for the night and it's really sweet and surreal. BPL is a mad place, one the sea side of the street there are areas of calm and silence where you can just look out to sea and take in the beautiful views then on the other side of the street there's people in fancy dress, flashing lights, candy floss and all the tacky stuff you could ever want (which for me is a lot!). There's a split personality and a great place to let it all go *remembers the woman I saw wearing only a pair of Uggs, a tool belt and a hi-vis jacket!*

Re: It's Friday, so what are YOU doing?
Will you all ask the traffic gods to be kind to me this afternoon as we are driving down southshire to check up on BIL who's just come out of hospital after a month in there and a pacemaker fitted. Well when I say we're driving I actually mean I am as OH got up for work at 5 am so by the time he's finished work and we get set off it'll be 2.30 and he'll probably snooze most of the way! We've spoken on skype a few times but it's not the same as actually seeing someone in person to make sure they really are alright. So will be packing up a few bits for me, OH and DS as well as making sure my parents have everything they need for DD who's staying here with them as she is an utter nightmare on long trips and it's not worth upsetting all concerned for an overnight. She's looking forward to it as she had a wonderful time with them when I was in hospital having DS in May. She does so adore her little brother (a little viciously at times, granted ) but it will be really nice for her to have some time on her own as well. Be nice for DS not to have to worry about over-enthusiastic kisses and strokes from his sis too, he's already learned to keep a close eye on her!
Hope you all have a good day and tomorrow too as probably not back online now til tomorrow evening. X
