ideas on how to expand this forum?
Does anyone know how to get more people on board here. Have told alot of people on MSE! They dont like you posting links to other forums so its abit hard.
Anyone got any suggestions on where else to promote it?
Thank-you stay at home friends.

Maybe we could send private messages to people on the thread on MSE? I think we're going to get closed down there for extreme naughtiness like being off-topic....

Re: ideas on how to expand this forum?
I feel this is a better idea than being on MSE anyway.
However much I love MSE...I have never found my 'niche' so to speak on there. I pick up loads of ideas etc. but often the threads just disintegrate into extreme ideas, then 'off-topic' etc etc....and so it goes on.
At this time of year (harvest), and especially since all the girls have left home, I do feel quite isolated. I look after the GC, but I find myself doing precious little else!
I just want to be able to come on here and get myself organised, along with others who are of the same mind. I also suffer from depression and a feeling of worthlessness for not having a job, but I love to be at home.... just need a kick up the bum sometimes!!
Well I feel i have rambled on enough lol

Re: ideas on how to expand this forum?
Definately think that Facebook and Twitter maybe (not that I use the latter) is the way to go, plus it's free which is the very best MSE
Who ever runs this forum could in theory set this page to their homepage on their user profile thereby allowing people easy access. It means at least you won't get into trouble posting the link frequently.
I love MSE, especially OS boards but I do find them phobic about going off topic. I can understand if things decend into an argument but general chatter I don't see the problem with.

Couldn't agree more!! Its often when things go offtopic that I learn the most.
I'd "like" this page if it was on facebook to encourage more to join, but, I quite like the cosiness of there not being too many on here too - decisions, decisions, glad they aren't mine to make lol

Re: ideas on how to expand this forum?
Hi
pleased to be here.
There's a group on facebook called 'UK mum's who make' they're all stay at home mums who make things for a living. It has thousands of memembers who silently tag their pages to get people to like their pages.
Once the page has lots of likes then hopefully word of mouth would get more users on here, or you can just post on UK mum's who makes wall the forum web adress. I could do this if you like?
Also advertise on twitter using hash tags #WAHM #SAHM #housewife #homemaker etc but we might run the risk of getting world wide sign ups?
Anyway, I'll help out where you would like me too
I too haven't found my niche on MSE and the off topic thing is really putting me off posting now I've read all the thread.
