Pancake day tomorrow
Tuesday February 21st is the pancake day
readymix pancakes or ready made pancakes or flour milk and egg tomorrow is the traditional day to enjoy pancakes.
One of the few occasions to use lard rather than oil.
learning to toss a pancake is like learning to ride a bicycle!
remember to get the pan hot before adding any batter

Re: Pancake day tomorrow
I am a make from scratch kind of girl.
Although last year I did try one of the ready mixed ones (The Betty Crocker "Shake to Make" one in a bottle) and it wasn't too bad.
What types of toppings do you like?
I like the simple lemon and sugar (my mum always added currants too)
I might try savoury pancakes tomorrow instead for a change....off to google recipes....

Re: Pancake day tomorrow
DH will be making from them from scratch and I'll be making the fillings.
We love savoury stuffed pancakes mushroom cheese and spinach yum yum
We might have one with some fresh blueberries and icecream
or in DH case icecream and maplesyrup stuff yuk
We don't like them with lemon and gritty sugar.

Re: Pancake day tomorrow
I found this recipe for Cheddar Polenta pancakes http://allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/9004/cheddar-polenta-pancakes.aspx
As I am a little low on ingrediants, I am limited to my choices! Although the Mushroom, spinach and cheese sounds good (If I had any spinach, I would make it!)
EDIT: Just found some frozen spinach lurking in my freezer, so Mushroom, spinach and cheese pancakes it is!
