How many bedding sets do you have and do you have luxury ones?

Do all your sets match or is it a mish mash on your bed.

Do you have 2 pillows or 1?

This is the kind of thread I love, you just don't get to chat about this stuff anywhere!

We currently only have two sets, I like to have three but I haven't seen another one I like recently since we decorated. My sets co-ordinate but I don't have matching sheets to go with the duvet and pillow covers. All our sheets and half the cases are plain grey percale. We did used to have really high thread count sheets but Dan thought they were too cold Laughing

My favourite brand is Sheridan, I just love their stuff, it's not especially cheap but it is good and lasts really well. Last year someone gave me a gift voucher for Debenhams and I bought a set of bedding from there - never again! The quality is not great and even though the design looks great in the room it has faded and bobbled a little already. I bought it in the sale but it was originally around £60 for the duvet cover so not cheapy-cheap. Very disappointed by that. Hopefully this year I'll see something better quality and I can relegate that to the 3rd set and use it less frequently.

For the spare beds I only have one set each, one is Ralph Lauren and the other is FCUK again not cheap but we've had them for about 7 years already and they wash beautifully and are well worth the cash. Again with them I don't have matching sheets and pillow cases I just have a set of white and use them all the time.

I have a few sets and a few odd bits and bobs.

I usually buy a nice fitted botton sheet that will match my duvet and pillowcase.

I tend to have 3 pillow's while DH has 2. I prefer my very old feather pillows I was given as a child so they are 40 years old. I just regularly make them a new inner case. When I was given them as a child I made them covers over the first layer then put on the pillowcase. So every couple of years I'd rip off that handmade cover to reveal it's orignal cover then sew a new white cover over it. Very Happy

I don't have a favourite make of duvet but I like mine to match the bedroom colours.

I still have duvet sets from that were wedding gifts so are 19 years old. They've hardly been used as they got lost when we moved 12 years ago Laughing Laughing Laughing One set has never even left it's plastic wrapping and I'm not sure why as it's a lovely kingsize duvet set.

I do try to buy extra pillow cases if not the same as my duvet at least a plain colour that will not clash with my duvets to use for the 'under pillow's(extra pillow's)

All my good quality white flat sheets have been cut up to make other things such as a template for my own designed wedding dress, for table napkins, and extra pillow cases.

well mines all cream, use to have all white but changed to cream when I had a decorating frenzy!

two pillows each and a big cushion each cos I like to watch telly in bed and this is ejected when its zzzz time. they are high thread count not posh ones and the duvets are all cream too (hmm sound dead boring now!) also have throws which I change around, ones a stripped cream/pale green/beige throw, ones a green/brown/mink paisley (my fav. pattern) and ones a summer brights one and my bed is a bedstead which I have had years and I love cos its so comfy. sighs.... time for bed said zeberdeeeee

I have 3 sets for our king size bed: One NEVER gets used and is just for emergencies (It was a Tesco cheapy set that has a split seam that I have never got round to mending)

Second set: Is a nice white cotton set with silver embroidered flowers. It is my summer set that can be washed and dried the same day in fair weather.

Third set is my lovely Dorma set from House of Fraser. It is really heavy and thick (perfect in the winter) and is dark brown.

All my fitted sheets are cream or white so can be mixed and matched with each bedding set. We have 2 (rather flat) pillows each, although we intend on buying some decent memory foam pillows soon. We invested in a memory foam mattress a few years ago and would never sleep in anything else now!

carrying on from bedding sets does everyone have a mattress protector. I was going to throw a sheet out and then realised it would do to put over the mattress before the sheet goes on top. A cheap mattress protector go me! Very Happy

We only have two full sets for our bed as we only have pure cotton ones, high thread count, expensive but so worth it. husband sweats a lot at night and if he's in poly bedding, it's unbearable for him poor bloke.

we've had them 4 years and they're still going strong. they're all in shades of cream and beige, and we have a purple sari fabric counterpane that goes on top to keep the decoration together.... if I can be bothered Wink.

both sets were bought reduced, but full price would have been about £180-£200 for both sets and extra pillow cases. I know, ridiculous money. the first full set was a christmas gift from my parents and cost them £65. that's 4 pillow cases, 1 kingsize duvet cover and a fitted sheet. the other set we built up over a couple of months.

we have a memory foam mattress, but again it was on sale. pillows, again expensive at full price but reduced; microfibre, hypoallergenic poly filling. duvet was a cheap one from ikea!

Yes, I put our stuff in anti allergy protectors, one for the mattress, it's nice and deep so there's no problem covering the mattress and the topper. We have them for the duvet and pillows too, they really help with Dan's allergies. Money well spent for me I think.

We've had a flannel sheet, the duvet and an alpaca blanket during this cold weather. Pretty cosy.

Is everyone able to manage putting duvet covers on yourself, or do you and oh have to do them together when they are big? Do you get in a mess with the duvet cover Smile

I put the duvet cover on myself. My arms aren't quite long enough to hold each corner at the same time but it's not too much of a faff. One of my friends pegs the end of the cover to the duvey so when she flips it the right way round it doesn't move.. I always say I'm going to try that but haven't yet.

I live alone and do it myself. I do know the king size duvets are hard on your own. I have helped my mum with those.

I love my down and feather duvet and down and feather pillows find the duvet really really light so I am not fighting with it. I love Northern Nights from QVC high thread count sheets and their flannel but started off by loving their feather bed then hating it, it is like a giant pillow you lie on and is supposed to cushion you and get rid of aches and pains but I prefer my memory foam topper which does a better job. I have king size covers for our double bed and like to have help when I put the cover on if someone is about.

I do the double bed and single bed myself but always wait till DH gets home to do the king size. Otherwise I get in a muddle and lose my patience with it lol. Always wished they did a duvet that zipped up along two sides so you could place the duvet on top of it and zip up.
