I read somewhere that baking is now considered to be very good therapy especially as say it dosent cost a lot to bake some scones? What do you think?

I can see how it would be theraputic for some people but it wouldn't be for me. I find the precision needed to be too stressful. Cooking is fine as you have lots of leeway with the ingredients and cooking process but baking is too precise for a flibbertyjibbert like me. Walking and exercise I see as really beneficial but baking, not for me.

Although if someone wanted to bake as therapy I'd be happy to help them eat the outcome!

Definately don't find ironing theraputic although my mum does - weirdo! (except when she comes and does some of mine then she's fab! Very Happy ) But definately do find all forms of cooking theraputic. I love to feed people - apparently the standard chinese geeting (hello type thing) literally translates as have you eaten yet? and that is definately me, I've been feeding all and sundry who hang around at mealtimes since I first left home at 18. I always have cake in. We've had family visiting this week and my 3 1/2 year old niece had barely been in the house 10 minutes when out popped "is there any cake?" much to the amusement and embarassment of her parents, I was flattered, we've not seen them for 6 months so the cake last time must have made a big impression.

find baking more stressful than theraputic, am not one for measuring everything out accurately and cooking it to certain timings, I never seem to get it right. But, I do find chopping ingredients and cooking, throwing everything in a pot to my own "recipe" theraputic then wiping all the surfaces down so everything is nice and clean Embarassed I am at home in the kitchen its tiny so easy to clean and look after
