I love them! A long weekend altogether. We're off to the west coast of Scotland this weekend, going to stay with DH's dad so a freebie

I like having the man at home for an extra day but it doesn't really make any difference to me tbh! I guess the main difference is that the town gets really busy so we tend to either go elsewhere or have a putter at home.

Actually I find one (admittedly very small) downside of being at home is that nowadays Bank Holidays hold much less appeal. When you can please yourself every day seems more or less the same.

I felt like that when I worked as I always worked in hospitality or retail. So working bank holidays, over Christmas and whatever else was normal, the only real difference was that people were more stressed or drunk or both in some cases

What's a Bank Holiday?? lol
Farmers don't have them....I used to feel sorry for our 3DD's when they were young and all their friends were going to do exciting things with their Mum's and Dad's.
We do have a fantastic family Christmas (dare I mention that word yet? ) though, which made up for it

Noticed there is an extra bank holiday this year for the jubilee. 4th and 5th of May. The May bank holiday has been moved a week.
