Christmas cake in a bag

I saw for the first time today a cake in a bag. It was £10 and you had to add things to it to make the cake. What do you think?

I think they're a good idea for someone who wants to give it a go.

So many people get themselves into a tizz about all this stuff so I think it's a nice easy way to get into the homemade thing but take things step by step. Yes, you're probably paying a bit more for the convenience but that's the way of the world.

are they new?

I think they've been out for a couple of years. I seem to remember a bit of a song and dance when Waitrose did a Delia christmas cake in a bag, that was when it first came to my attention. But they could have been around before, neither of us like fruit cake so it's not something I would normally think about.

noticed it was reduced today from 10 pounds to 5 probably well overpriced to start with.

I also noticed a supermarket was giving a delia one away free, if you spent a certain amount of money.

these are now down to £3 in tesco today x

I spent £5 on the ingredients for our cake..... but it was a biiiig cake, and I bought enough for 2 biiig cakes.

bet it was lovely i won one that was nice.

was really good. I use Kirsty Allsop's recipe from last year's kirsty and phil's xmas programme. it's foolproof, but not available online anymore....
