I am on a mission to become more of a stay at home mum / wife ( my daughter is 20 and my son of 22 has left home now , so I don't really need to be a stay at home Mum ) but I have always worked even when the children were little ( but I was lucky enough to work in childcare so they could come with me ) but I have always wanted to just be a stay at home wife and mum and have the housework done, dinner cooked etc without trying to juggle everything while trying to work as well so now thats what I'm aiming to do
at the moment I work 26.5 hours a week in retail and Christmas kills me as I love christmas but end up having to work and I hate it , so I've been in to see my boss and in the new year I will be cutting down to 23 hours , it doesn't sound a lot but I'm hoping to do shorter days so won't need a lunch break so that should gain me another 2 hours a week, my long term goal is to cut down to 20 hours ( 5 hours a day 4 days a week ) the very same day that I spoke to my boss I came home to a message from one of my regular customers ( hubby and I make handmade cards as a side line ) and she has talked her work place into ordering all the cards from us possbily 10 at a time so it is all starting to feel as though it can be done Smile

so do I , I'm just really tired now of always working for someone else and just yearning to be at home when I'm at work , I really love making the cards and all I've ever wanted is just to be an 'old fashioned' housewife, that might make me sound sad but its important to me.
I'm also thinking ahead in that eventually I hope to be a nan and I don't want to spend all my time ( especially over christmas ) working I want to be at home with the family

Good news, hope it works out.

I'm not a fan of New Year's Eve but I am soooooo excited to see the arrival of the new year!
