Have a small helping of something anonymous in the little freezer, so might thaw that out and see what it is!

Normally stuff gets labelled carefully, as I once made queen of puddings with garlic breadcrumbs. I was really puzzled, couldn't understand where the garlic 'odour' was coming from , as I didn't think I'd used any LOL!

I one got given a half pint glass of peppermint cordial in a pub instead of lemonade. Gross!

We had 3 freezers once in the house due to a big event coming up. One freezer was full of meat, another with frozen fruit and veggies from the garden and the other stuff from the shops.

Enter brother coming to stay over and he didn't like the sound of one of the freezers it hummed every now and then so in the middle of the night he got up and unplugged it.

Forgot to put the plug back in the morning and didn't say a thing. He only stays over one night on way to see friends.

We didn't notice the unplugged freezer untill we thought what's that smell about 1 week later. Yep freezer had been unplugged for 7 days and all the meat had defrosted and started to spoil. What a waste of monies the meat had to be replaced as well it was for a huge interchurch summer bbq party.

Freezer management is on my hit list for 2012, I've gone from cooking for 4-6 to 2 (kids away at uni and often have mates around) but still buying for a full house.
I do have trouble putting labels on things Embarassed , I aways say I'll put a sticker on it when next in the freezer.
I did invest in a marker pen but can't stand the smell of them, so don't like using it.

I use a roll of masking tape and a biro to label freezer stuff. The tape is strong enough to stay on in the freezer but comes off easily when the tub needs to be washed.
