Stocking Fillers for kiddies aged 11 and 9

Hi

Can you help please

I need some ideas for stocking fillers for a girl aged 11 [nearly 12] and a boy aged 9

In previous years they have had sweets, orange and apple!! and lots of little pocket money toy things but they're too old for all that stuff now [apart from sweets and fruit] and I'm stuck as to what to put in the stockings, I don't eant to stop doing the stockings as I think they are a great tradition but need ideas, honestly, you'd think I'd be able to get stuff for my own kids!!!!

Kind of hard to suggest without knowing your two but would either some craft bits and pieces (there's a website, www.madaboutcards.com that has a fab 50p/£1 section and oftenhas great sales) or sports stuff (tennis ball, swimming goggles? type of thing?) help at all? There is also bananas books www.bananas.co.uk that is the end of lines stuff from the book people so realy cheap - I managed to get 23 books for £25 (free postage level) including 6 christmas pressies and a birthday pressie!

My DD is 10, the past couple of years we cut out sweeties in the stocking as that was all she was interested in and eating them all at once! Instead we fill with toiletry stuff which she is beginning to get into as she always uses mine, suppose it makes her feel grown up too! Things like little deodorants, lipbalm/glosses, nail varnishes (she only uses nail varnish in school holidays) pretty hair bands/slides, fashion jewellery (Tammy Girl in BHS/Primark) novelty socks with cute animals on (she loves these), cute showergels (Boots Natural Collection). My DS is 5, in his stocking he gets little toy cars, novelty shower gel too Home Bargains do Thomas the Tank pump ones that look like "daddys shaving gel" he loves these, novelty socks too. Must admit though finding it harder to think of boys things than girls.

Thanks for the ideas - loving the ideas for the girl stocking fillers but its so hard to get a 9 yr old boy things for a stocking!!

What about looking at squigy/gloopy/throw at the wall kind of things that boys seem to go for? Might even be worth looking in the party bag section of stores to find little bits and bobs going cheap. Have a look around the halloween stuff for ghouls and ghostly kind of things that could be played with all year. Some joke items like a whoopie cushion or pretend pooh? £1 shops will probably be your friend too.

I haven't got boys so it's probably a good idea to ignore all the above lol
