We have been talking about selling our camping gear and using the camping shed to house a freezer. We would need to get it hooked up with electricity. We have a fridge freezer in the kitchen but the freezer part only has 2 and a half drawers so doesnt hold that much. I want a second freezer so I can stock up on meat bargains and also batch cook and freeze things.

I just wondered if the large chest freezers cost a lot of electricity to run. We are a family of 4, 2 kids aged 14 and 11, would one of those be too big for us? My Mum has a small chest freezer in her shed which I have a feeling might be too small for us so just wanted opinions from other people really.

In terms of running costs have a look at the John Lewis website, they give the annual running costs of their fridges and freezers so it would give you a ballpark figure to consider when you were looking round.

We're thinking of going the other way and getting rid of our freezer as we just don't use it all that much.

We recently replaced our chest freezer - even though there are only two of us now we bought quite a large one. I like to take advantage of special offers and price reductions. In the summer/autumn I freeze fruits from our trees and bushes and veggies from my half-allotment. It also came in very handy at Christmas to store my daughter's goodies and my sister's meat - should have rented out the space Laughing

I've gone from under worktop size to chest freezer to tall freezer, thinking of going fridge freezer next as the family shrinks

Think I have decided on a medium sized chest freezer. There is one posted on Gumtree today in my area for £40 so hopefully its not sold yet. My electrician brother in law can do the electric to the shed and then I can go shopping Talk to me about freezers 2873396784
