Do you use a Slow Cooker/Crockpot?

I absolutely love my slow cooker and use it at least twice a week. I do mainly stews and currys in mine and gammon which we don't like too salty so I found that using the slow cooker with some added water made the gammon less salty. I have even cooked a whole chicken in it, then to brown it off I finish it off in my ramoska.

I used to love it and use it all the time but havent used it much this winter, dont know why. I am thinking of swapping it for a food mixer, only because I dont have a lot of storage room so no room for things I dont use. Think I will make a point of getting it out as DH loves meals from the slow cooker. Especially gammon cooked in coke.

when my slow cooker broke i didnt replace it as everything i cooked in it had a strange unusual taste that we didnt like. everything tasted the same. very odd.

Never had a strange taste in the couple I have had but they have been the crock pot, earthenware types. If mine broke that week I would go and replace it I wouldn't be without.
