do you have any greying hair?
At 31 I have a few greying hairs around my temples. They're about 3 inches long now and I'm rather proud of them.
I want to not dye over them and just accept that I'm probably going to be 50/50 grey/brunette by the time I'm 40, if not sooner if my Mum is anything to go by.
Thing is people react as if I'm the devil or something.. almost crossing their fingers at me as if to push that idea of mine away (alright not really but the reaction is pretty severe by some of my friends my age) I know they're thinking it's because I'm a tight wad so pretending i'm ok about it so I don't have to pay for salon treatment. I really am ok about it!
Is it ok to not cover up grey hair in your 30's and beyond? What would/do you do?

Got my first few threads of grey at 18 :affraid: so have been religiously dyeing ever since apart from when pregnant, only ever done home kits though, can't afford a salon but have got pretty good with a box of dye by now. I'm just about starting to come to terms with my grey threads now at 33, still haven't really got any more than the ones which first apears all those years ago but now I feel old enough (and harrassed enough) to justifiably have a few!

I think that my username answers this question! (Btw, I use a semi-permanent colour to 'disguise' the grey hair.)

Yep, I have some grey hair, no I don't colour it. I did buy a dye the other week, but I think that was more to do with the fact that Superdrug stuff is now BUAV than anything else. I thought about it but decided not to use it because I don't want to get back into that cycle of having to colour it all the time so it's just going to stay as it is.

Re: do you have any greying hair?
I guess I'm not the one to ask. I have androgenetic alopecia and my hair is very sparse, so I started to wear a wig about 5/6 years ago. I love it! It's made so much difference to my life...and appearance. I look a lot younger than my years. My natural sparse hair is grey when I leave it alone, but I sometimes colour it burgundy/plum, in case the straggles appear at the edges of the wig. When I'm at home I tend to wear a headscarves, to save the wigs, as they're expensive and don't last that long. Put one on if I'm expecting someone I don't know or don't know well.

Re: do you have any greying hair?
Yes, have them along my hairline, I do dye it and have done for many years even before I had grey hair. Luckily if I haven't dyed it for a while you can't notice them due to the way I position my fringe, don't know how long I'll get away with that though.
I have a friend who works for one of the big hair salons and now works in London, he asked me the last time he was on the phone "What colour is your hair?"
"My natural colour, brunette" I replied. He was laughing when he said "how do you know ur hair is still brunette it could be grey under all that dye, you've been colouring it for so long"! Cheeky so and so!

Re: do you have any greying hair?
Yes. I'm lucky because it's only been relatively mild so far - my best friend who's the same age as me is pretty much 100% grey and has been for ages.
I'm determined never to colour the greys - my hair grows incredibly fast and I really don't want the hassle of having to do roots every two weeks.
My personal opinion is that if you go grey very early it can make you look older than you are, but if you go grey later it can be much more attractive/sexy to accept the natural colour change and go for the funky haircut and great condition option.
A friend of mine is 57 and has recently stopped colouring her hair - she always looked younger than her age, but I swear that letting the natural look come back has knocked another 5 years off.
I get inspiration from sites like this one: http://www.graygirls.com/

Re: do you have any greying hair?
yep I've got grey hair....somewhere among all the dye lol
My natural colour is a 'mousey' one, so have often coloured it, streaked it etc. to a blonder colour. I know it's grey because they show up among the blonde as being lighter, especially around my fringe.
I'm happy with it as it is at the moment.

Yes i do have grey hair not sure what % but not 50% I have not coloured it for a 2 years, quite happy at the moment to leave it alone, might change my mind anytime and cover it. I am 45 and don't fancy a 20 yr old head on a aging body with all the bits going south

Re: do you have any greying hair?
I got my first grey hairs in my early 20's and have been colouring my hair for many years now.
I last coloured my hair about 3 months ago, & now have lots of grey roots.
I have decided that I am going to let the grey just grow through and see what it looks like as the colour is gradually cut out (well, that is the plan. we will see how long it lasts)
