Plans For The Weekend?
It's Friday again already. What are you doing this weekend?
Tonight we're going to Warrington to watch some rugby, tomorrow we're going to a wedding reception (I don't want to go), Sunday FIL is coming to visit and in the evening I'm meeting up with an old mate I haven't seen for about 15 years as he's in the north west for a day or two.
Have fun whatever you're doing!

Re: Plans For The Weekend?
I've got a list as long as my arm of things to do tomorrow as DS is being christened on Sunday and then will be having about 30 people back to the house for roast pork, stuffing and apple sauce butties and bucks fizz!
Would have tried to get some of it done today but took the kids to the home ed halloween party in the village hall. DS was possibly the cutest pumpkin I've ever seen and DD was a little witch ho had to be pried out of her costume at bedtime! She had a lovely time and enjoyed the dancing and all the rest of the day we were saying to her "did you like the dancing?" and she'd start jigging up and down again shouting "yay yay".

Re: Plans For The Weekend?
We aren't doing much, H was knocked off his motorbike yesterday so he's hobbling round like an old man, DD is ailing and has no appetite. I am baking a pumpkin shaped cake tomorrow that I need to ice and decorate for Monday. Also the usual washing and ironing. Livin' the rock and roll lifestyle
Re: Plans For The Weekend?
Oh poor hubby - hope he's OK.
Well go most of my list done today just got to roast the pork tomorrow, make the coleslaw, iron what we're all wearing and put everything out in the attic to keep the kids occupied - going to put load of paper and colouring stuff as well as some toys in case the medium sized children get bored. The small ones will be ok with the adults and the older teens are all sociable enough to do proper chatting but the middle lot might get a bit fed up especially since I'm putting the garden out of bounds this time as it is completely sodden and also at previous dos they've charged all over the place including the veg beds and my seedlings!!!

Re: Plans For The Weekend?
I like flibsey and far nicer than real pumpkins. Which I have just carved two. Gawd they smell and feel horrible even DS whom was originally going to help recoiled in horror and said "that stinks". Can't say he's wrong either. Anyway both are now carved so that's best mummy of the year duty over with
DD is still poorly, temps been over 39 degrees and back down again. She hasn't got off the sofa all day except for the odd toilet trip. Have had to uninvite the two mindees I'd asked to come as I dare not risk passing on this virus she's got. Oh well I am sure me and DS can have as much fun with DD watching if she's no better. What is it that they say about best laid plans???

Hope DD's a bit better today Bitsy.
My goodness, we went to Blackpool last evening where I met up with my old friend - which was weird and a bit awkward but I think we had a good time. We went to Funny Girls which is a cabaret and that was great as ever. It always makes me want to wear glittery make up and go to the gym though! Today I am tired and emotional...

Re: Plans For The Weekend?
It must be in the water Alec, I feel tired (exhausted in fact) and emotional. Think stresses of weekend with poorly child and H is catching up on me. Everything is a real struggle today thankfully DD is much better, the commencement in the sibling arguing is testament to that
Hope feel more like yourself soon Alec x

The double edged sword of feeling better - arguing! Hope you get a full night's sleep tonight and feel nice and fresh in the morning.
Please, don't have any sympathy for me, it's nothing learning not to have "just one more" cocktail wouldn't solve

Re: Plans For The Weekend?
I was so warm in the sun yesterday wasn't it. We went to the beach for a bit, there were so many people there I was really surprised. But there we all were, kids building sandcastles, dogs running around, everyone eating icecream and sunbathing. It was great. We went to Keswick on Saturday and it was the same. Loads of people about just enjoying the beautiful day. It was bright sunshine this morning too, we had frost but when the breeze died down it was glorious.

Re: Plans For The Weekend?
We are heading off to Weston Super Mud tomorrow to go visit H's relatives. Been over a year since we saw them last so need to make the effort. Will head down into Weston (as they reside in Banwell not far from there), take the kids to see the sea, if it's there Fingers crossed the weather is good
Sunday will be spent making a Polar Express bell for the kids, if you haven't ever seen the film or read the book then long story short is a boy is given the first gift of Christmas and he pics one of Father Christmas' sleigh bells that's fallen off. He then loses it and FC leaves it for him in a box under the tree. I am hoping the kids are vaguely excited about receiving one, H posted them letters from FC the other day and to say they were rather underwhelmed is being kind Oh dear have I turned my kids into brats?!!!!

They don't sound spoilt Bitsy!
Dave Gorman is so adorable. We've seen him a few times before. He's written some funny books, basically he goes round meeting people for whatever reason. His latest book is about going round to people's houses to play games with them. Other things were erm meeting people with the same name as him. He did his "googlewhack adventure" where he tried to get people to find googlewhacks (two word google searches with only one result) and other tall tales like that. He had a tv show called "Genius" where people would present ideas or inventions they'd come up with. Just daft stuff like that. One of the things he does for lives shows is powerpoint presentations and that's what this show is his Big Powerpoint Presentation. So we shall see!
Here's a bit of Genius with the very delightful Mr Jonny Vegas (there may be swearing) -
